J.R (RANDY) MCCONAGHY 1931-2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Randy McConaghy on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 80 years. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, best friend and soul mate, Shirley, daughters; Marguerite, Brenda, and Ellen, extended family; Diane, Janice, Ken, and Carolyn, grandsons; Justin and Riley, his brother Richard (Doreen) of Cloverdale B.C., brother-in-law James (Rosalie) McHardy of Cobble Hill B.C., sister-in-law Helen Starr of Winnipeg, MB., as well as many extended family grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Arnold and Edith, and his brothers Bill and Archie. Randy was born in Neepawa, MB. and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 9. He started his professional career as a banker but soon realized sales was his calling. He went on to spend 45 plus years in auto sales as a salesman, sales manager, and ultimately a dealership owner. Randy loved golf, travel, and gardening, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. In keeping with Randy's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 (St. Patrick's Day) at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Randy may be made to The Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave.,Winnipeg, M.B., R3A 1P6.
