MARJORIE KATHLEEN RICHTER (nee JAMES) September 9, 1927 - March 7, 2012 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie, at the age of 84 years, at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home. Marjorie was predeceased by her beloved husband, George, in April 2010. Left to cherish her memory is her son Mark (Joany), sister Helen, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Marjorie was born and raised on the family dairy farm in South Transcona and after her education she went on to become a hairdresser at Eatons. She also worked at The Bay downtown in the baby department. Later Marjorie went on to become a nurses aide and activities director at Park Manor Personal Care Home in Transcona, retiring in 1978. As a young girl Marjorie loved to paint taking after her father, who was a very good artist in his day. Marjorie loved to travel, visiting Europe, Hawaii, and Mexico. She also had many enjoyable times at Brereton Lake with her family. A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m., at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A special thanks to the staff at Tuxedo Villa Extended Care Home for their care and compassion.
