JEFFREY SCOTT THOM With family at his side, on Monday, March 12, 2012, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Jeff Thom passed away at the age of 49 years. Jeff was predeceased by his parents Joan and Henry Thom. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Jane of 21 years and his dog Heron, brother Robert (Peg), sister Barb (John), brother Greg (Joyce) and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him very much. He will also be sadly missed by his extended family and many dear friends. Jeff and Jane have been together since they met at the age of 18 years. Jeff had many careers and was currently working at Transcona Collegiate as a custodian. A celebration of Jeff's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A private family interment will be held at a later date. A special thanks is extended to doctors and nurses of 5E, St. Boniface Hospital, in particular charge nurse Judy for your loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jeff to CancerCare Foundation of Manitoba. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550

Jeff was a very rare jewel, indeed. He would make you smile and laugh. He would encourage you to succeed. I Cherish the times we had together, and the memories we shared. I met Jeff and Jane through my husband, Duane. Duane and I both have nothing but the best memories of the time we spent with Jeff and Jane. Weekends at Mike Brown's lake, car shows and just hanging out. We are so sorry to hear about Jeff's passing. He truly was (is) one of the good guys and he will live on in all of our memories. I remember Jeff coming over when I was just 16 and he was 18 and he had overheard how my Grandma called my name, And I remember to this day he would still call me that winny namy, but he got a real kick out of it, Joooeeeseee! He would stretch the name out at a high woman pitch it was funny and then it stuck every time we went out. Now I won't be hearing that anytime soon. I was very surprised to hear this, He was way too young, I say what the hell, we went to many of the MBSRA car shows together way back I was a part of all that thanks to Jeff. We are so very saddened to hear of Jeff's passing. He was a true gentle giant who loved his family so dearly. The world was a better place for having him in it, even though it wasn't nearly long enough. Hats off to Jeff for fighting so hard.
