Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTEENA DRAHO It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Teena Draho (née Syrnyk) on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 1:10 p.m., at the age of 90 years. She was predeceased by her husband Edward in 1963 and by all of her brothers and sisters over the years. Teena will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Valerie, son Lawrence, son-in-law Anthony, grandchildren Jennifer, Ryan and Christopher, daughter-in-law Katherine, great-granddaughter Lily, sisters-in-law Frances and Mae, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Teena was born on January 27, 1922 near Dauphin, Manitoba, the youngest daughter of Roman and Kateryna Syrnyk of Keld District. She left the family farm as a young woman to go to Winnipeg, where she worked as a nanny and a seamstress prior to meeting and marrying her husband in 1947. Teena and Edward lived and raised their family in St. Vital. A fulltime wife and mother, gardening and needlework were hobbies that she loved and actively pursued. Summers were always a pleasure for her because holidays included visits to her beloved family who continued to farm near Dauphin. She also enjoyed bowling and curling and she was a very lucky bingo player. She loved to watch the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Blue Jays games as well as the Manitoba men's and women's curling teams on television, especially in recent years. In keeping with Teena's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street with interment following at St. Vital Cemetery. A special thank you goes out to the staff at Tuxedo Villa, especially caregivers Linda and Ramey who showed so much compassion in their care for Teena, as well as nieces Florence and Gladys who always made time for Mom in their busy lives. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Teena to the Buhler Eye Care Centre, Misericordia Health Centre Foundation, Room 161-99 Cornish Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1A2. I will always remember Aunt Teenie coming to Dauphin to visit us at the farm (Mike & Frances)and Aunt Teenie would always bring us kids new clothes from the big city of Winnipeg. She was such a great Auntie and may she now rest in peace. - Posted by: LORI NOVAKOWSKI (NIECE) on: Mar 25, 2012

Valerie and Lawrence and family; so sorry to hear about the passing of you Mom, my Auntie. I often think about the Sat. dinners on Haig St. where she made a great dinner and we all watched the NHL hockey games. - Posted by: GORD DRAHO (NEPHEW) on: Mar 23, 2012

The place I will remember on Haig Ave. as I stayed there at times. She was a very tidy housekeeper and her son Lawrence and myself enjoyed good times at the Seine River. My dad and mom where very close to aunt and in my younger days I can remember the nice visits. I visited her this winter when I came back from Phoenix. She still remembered me when I said Mike. Our family will always know Aunt Teenie. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: reg syrnyk and family (my aunt ) on: Mar 22, 2012
