JAMES ALEXANDER MCKAY December 1, 1937 - April 4, 2012 James was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He came to Canada in 1948 and was employed with the City of Winnipeg Parks, Boulevards and Brookside Cemetery. Jim enjoyed his football games, daily walks in Kildonan Park, attending Seven Oaks Wellness Centre, fishing and taking care of his home and family. Jim leaves to mourn Shirley; stepdaughters Kelley (Mark) Kowalski, Shelley (Darcy) McRae; grandchildren Kylee and Tyson; sister Sadie Lightfoot; niece and nephews, and many loving lifelong friends. James was predeceased by stepson Ron in 2008. We would like to thank Health Sciences Centre I.C.U. Floors 1 to 7. Celebration of James' life will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012 in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West at 1:00 p.m. A thousand times we needed you. A thousand times we cried. If Love alone could have saved you, You never would have died; A heart of gold stopped beating. Two twinkling eyes closed to rest. God broke the mold, our hearts, to prove He only takes the best. Never a day goes by that you're not in our hearts and souls. Funeral Arrangements In Care Of WHEELER FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY CREMATORIUM 1800 DAY STREET 224-1525

  • I GOT TO KNOW JIM AT THE WELLNESS CENTRE AS OUR LOCKERS WERE IN THE SAME AREA. HE ALWAYS USED TO BE AFTER ME FOR COMING IN BETWEEN 8 AND 9 AND SAID I ONLY PUT IN A 1/4 OF A DAY. HAD SOME GOOD LAUGHS ABOUT THAT. I ONLY RETURNED TO WELLNESS TODAY FROM WINTER VACATION AND SAW THAT HE PASSED AWAY ON THE BULLETIN BOARD AND AM SORRY I MISSED THE CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE. WILL MISS MY PARTNER GIVING ME ACTION ABOUT MY 1/4 DAYS. KNOW HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY HIS FAMILY WHO HE SPOKE ABOUT OFTEN. REMEMBER THE JOY HE BROUGHT TO OUR LIVES AND HOPE IT HELPS IN YOUR MISSING HIM. - Posted by: Cleo Hutmacher (WELNESS FRIEND) on: Apr 18, 2012
