MOHAN LALL August 28, 1926 - April 6, 2012 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving Great-Grandfather, Grandfather, Father, Uncle Ji, Brother and Husband. Mohan slipped away from us peacefully on Good Friday April 6, 2012 at the age of 85 with his family and the staff of St. Boniface Hospital by his side. He was predeceased by his parents Baldev and Mariam Parshad, his siblings John, Shanti, Zeenat, Joeseph, Sohan, Manohar and Kishori. Left to cherish Mohan's memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Ivy; his children, Mohini (Bal), Harold (Susan), Monika (John), Rita (Mathew); his grandchildren, Bikram (Nupur), Neeraj, Alex (Carly), Allan (Elisa), Varun, Ashna, Ankita, and great-grandson Rajvir. Mohan was born in Khokharke, Pakistan. In his early years, Mohan served in the British Indian Army during the Second World War. After the war he attended college, then married in 1950 and began his career as a teacher in Dhariwal, India from 1953 to 1991. He was a devout Christian and very involved in his church. He was very well respected in his community. Mohan enjoyed playing sports and coached many field hockey teams. He also loved to draw. In 1994 Mohan came to Winnipeg with Ivy to visit their daughter Rita and later settled here, frequently visiting both India and Canada. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the loving care they provided Mohan during his time there. A funeral service will be held at Calvary Temple on Tuesday, April 17 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing before the service at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation.
