Uncle Stevie is how I remember you. You were Mom's first cousin, but we called you uncle. My memories are of you are from a young age when we took family trips out west, always a treat for us. I remember how warm and welcoming you always were to us. It was never a dull moment in the company of Mom's cousins, I remember lots of love and laughter. Thank you for those wonderful memories. Auntie Marjorie and Marlaine, my heart goes out to you during this time of loss. When I first put together my band "High Profile" in 1995, I was looking for an experienced violin player and I was referred by 4 people to Steve. When Steve and I first met, we hit it off right away, had the same approaches to music and decided to play together. That relationship lasted almost 9 years and include us recording 2 successful CDs together. I had one final opportunity to play with Steve when he filled in on short notice in August 2011, and it was like old times again. Our friendship and respect for each other never changed. Thank you, Steve. It was grand knowing you. Will miss you, friend. Vichnaya Pamyat. - Posted by: Darren Gagaluk (Musical Comrade) on: Apr 22, 2012

To me Steve was the best violin player I have ever known. He played at our 25th and our newphews wedding. I would insist on having Steve play at any of our occassions (and he even cancelled an event to play at our 25th.) He was the best, now we will watch the videos of him, Orest, Paul, Ken L. and others play. - Posted by: Gord & Paulette Leduchowski (Late Orest & Paul Pododworny's sister) on: Apr 21, 2012

Condolences to the Myk family. We carry great memories from the teen days of twin fiddling with Harvey on guitar and that super good humour to sustain us for all time. R.I.P. - Posted by: David Romaniuk and Delores Puchailo (early music friends ) on: Apr 21, 2012

God has taken another Angel home. It was a pleasure listening and dancing to the sweet sounds that poured out from that fiddle. We'll remember that smile showing how much he enjoyed music. Often God shuts a door in our face, and opens the door through which we need to go. Forever remembered. - Posted by: Ken & Ollie (Friends) on: Apr 18, 2012

Steve and his amazing talent will be sorely missed. I certainly enjoyed my time playing many weddings with Steve and learned a lot from him. I thought I knew everything about the guitar until I met Steve. There aren't many other fiddle players around today that could match Steve's skill, and that is a shame. - Posted by: Brad Salyn (Friend) on: Apr 18, 2012

A real musician has been taken from us. Quite a loss. Played many nights with Steve at weddings/dances and always enjoyed his passion for music. Great times and a friend that will be missed. Really liked when Steve and his friend Al would play dualing fiddles. Thanks for the memories buddy. - Posted by: John Peterson (Friend and fellow musician) on: Apr 16, 2012

Our deepest sympathy to the Myk family on the loss of their loved one. Steve was a great and talented musician...in fact he played our wedding 43 years ago in Oakburn when he started out with the "Country Kings" and he never lost his talent with age. He surely will be missed! - Posted by: Adam and Pat(Lamb) Krupa (Friends through music) on: Apr 16, 2012

I did meet Steve on several occasions as his daughter and I have been friends since we were 12. I was saddened to hear of his sudden passing. I know Marlaine will help to keep Steve's memory alive. I will miss when Marlaine and I would talk on the phone and she would say her dad was over fixing something for them. My heart goes out to Marlaine and Marjorie and the rest of the Myk family. He's gone but never fogotten by those who keep him close in their hearts as I know you all will. <3 Lisa Taylor and family - Posted by: Lisa Taylor (friend of Marlaine Myk) on: Apr 16, 2012
