WILLIAM (BILL) FREDRICK BONDARENKO October 22, 1952 - April 13, 2012 After a brief courageous battle with Cancer, it is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Bill on Friday, April 13, 2012, in the arms of his beloved wife Sheila, also with his sons and numerous family members at his bedside. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Sheila, two sons Ryan (Shani), Travis and his loyal companion Sasha, as well as his mother Irene, stepfather George, siblings Chris (Judy), Terry (Denise), Tim (Carol Ann), Denise (Perry), mother-in-law Claire Capner, in-laws Carl (Tammy), Barry, Rhonda (Butch), Jackie (Sid), Wanda (Stefan), godchild Danielle, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins and friends. Bill was predeceased by his father John, father-in-law Clarence and great-niece Brooklynn. Celebration of Bill's life will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel 211 Regent Avenue West at 1:00 p.m. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. A. Battad and staff at the Health Sciences Centre 4D, with a very special thank you to Dr. Susan Hauch for her care, compassion and friendship. In 1967, I had gone to hockey school in Flin Flon, Mb and was trained by Bobby Clark. Guess who the goalie was - Bill Bondarenko Then in 1984, I started classes at CNR and guess who was in my class -Bill Bondarenko. Dear family members - it is with great sadness to hear about Billy's passing. Having left Winnipeg in 1978 for a move to Montreal and then leaving there in 1981 for Vancouver, keeping in touch with the Bondarenko extended family has basically been through my aunts Dorothy, Jeannie and Claudie. Cancer is a disease that touches everyone and with the loss of my Dad, Harry to cancer in 1990 and with my mom just being diagnosed with colon cancer after having a breast removed last year - it is devastating. Take care of yourselves, be there for each other and always be thankful for the time you have spent with your loved ones. Please accept my deepest sympathy in conjunction with my mother and brother on your great loss.
