HELEN PEARSON 1931 - 2012 Peacefully with her loving husband by her side, Helen passed away at Riverview Health Centre on Friday, April 13, 2012. Helen leaves behind to mourn her loyal husband of 43 years, Glen, daughter Jo-Anne (Ray), grandson Michael (Sherry), granddaughter Sherri, and great-granddaughter Brooke. Helen was predeceased by her parents and daughter Pat (2006). Helen was born in Calgary and moved to Winnipeg with her parents at age 13. She worked at Eaton's for many years and later The Bay. Helen loved her Bingo and Assiniboia Downs in the summer. She loved getting together with her family to play her favourite board games. She was a big fan of the Bombers and enjoyed watching hockey. She will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour, her compassion for others and her love of animals. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Riverview Health Centre (AB-2) for their care during Helen's last days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in Helen's memory. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Nan, Rest in peace. Dear Mom, you were a wonderful, understanding, loving, compassionate mother and grandmother. You were always there for me when I needed you. I think of you every day Mom, and wish you could have stayed longer and gotten to know your beautiful great-granddaughter Brooke. I know you are near and protective, and one day we will be together again in the afterlife. I miss you so much, in so many ways. Love you always and forever.
