GARY KLIPPENSTIEN February 8, 1955 - April 21, 2012 On April 21, 2012 with unbearable heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our most beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother Gary Elmer James Klippenstien. Left to grieve and mourn him is his lifelong love, partner, soul-mate and wife Michele Diane (nee Solomon), loving sons Adam (Stacey) and Aaron (Amanda) and two incredible grandchildren Kyler and Brayden. Also left to mourn him are his brother Adrian and sister Anita Nault, along with his extended family of brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews along with countless friends and co-workers. Gary was predeceased by his parents Elmer Otto Klippenstien (2004), Irene Klippenstien (2012), cousin Lyndon Krahn (2012) and brother-in-law Douglas Bruce Solomon (1975). Gary was born February 8, 1955 to Elmer and Irene Klippenstien (nee McCrea) the youngest of three children. He was an extremely kind, caring, fun-loving, hilarious, hard working and classy man who loved his family and friends dearly. He attended Pinkham, Hugh John and Tec Voc schools. Gary's work in the electrical wholesale trade began in 1973 for Westburne/Amesco (15 years) and then Gescan (25 years) where he made many lifelong friends and associates. During his 2nd year at Amesco he met Michele who became his love , soul-mate, best friend and wife for the next 37 years. Their journey together would see their love for each other, their children (Adam and Aaron) and grandchildren (Kyler and Brayden) grow. He was extremely proud of his family. Gary instilled his love/passion for sports into his boys. Gary coached both his children in baseball for four years. Adam and Aaron became professional sports fans like their dad especially with the home team Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers. Although he tried, he could not instill this very important part of his life in Michele, however Michele always loved watching their sons and grandsons in there many sporting activities. For their 25th wedding anniversary Gary and Michele went on a cruise which sparked their love for travel. Michele will always treasure their trips to Mexico, Jamaica, Arizona and summer camping with family and friends. Squatting at The Cape with Wayne and Janice, and in St. Andrews (a.k.a. Flommerland) with Christina and Ian was especially memorable. I would like to thank Adam and Stacey, Aaron and Amanda, Adrian, Mom, Dad and Betty, Dan and Heather and many family and friends who have supported me during this very painful time.-Michele In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. • My deepest condolences goes out to the family. Growing up Gary to me was more than the dad of a really close friend. He was kinda like the dad I never had. So kind, caring and extremely patient to everyone who was graced to be his friend. I now reflect back on all those years. I am sure it wasn't easy for him, and know it wasn't easy for Michelle. But I do have to thank the both of you because if it wasn't for the two of you I don't think I would have turned out to be who I am today, you showed me what family is. I hope you both know that. - Posted by: Raymond Garrioch (long time friend of family) on: Apr 26, 2012

  • As often can happen in our business, I never met Gary face to face . . . but I have had literally thousands of business conversations with him over the entire (circa) 40 years that we both worked in this industry. There have been very few during that time who presented themselves better, or whom I enjoyed working with more. I will miss him . . . PVK - Posted by: Peter Van Kemenade (Customer) on: Apr 25, 2012
