Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILY CECHVALA (nee DUDEK) With heavy hearts the family announce the passing of Emily Cechvala who passed away at the Concordia Hospital on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the age of 89 years. Emily was predeceased by her brother Laddie, one half-brother and three half-sisters as well son-in-law Tim Reader. She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband John of 65 years, their children: Dianne, Carol (Lorne), Bill (Marie), Angeline, Ron, Brian (Val), Laurie, Nyla (Darrell), grandchildren: Charlene (Chad), Graham (Nancy), Cheri, Sarina, Brandy (Garth), Lorne, Douglas, Ashley, Raeann, Lindsey, Nicole, great-grandchildren: Brandon, Geoffrey, Jason, Tyler, Nathan, Janessa, Trinity, Andrew, Athena, Ashlee, as well as her sister Frances. She will also sadly missed by her sisters-in-law: Ethel, Mary, Diane and Edna, and numerous nieces and nephews. Emily immigrated to Canada in 1926, at the age of three years. She and John married in 1947, and started their lives farming in Saskatchewan for nine years. They moved to Transcona where they made their lives since 1957, and still lived in their original home upon her passing. She was always a hard working person and very family oriented. Funeral Mass and reception will be held at 12:00 p.m. noon, Saturday, May 12, 2012, at the Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, 505 Brewster Street with Father Jan Spyrka presiding. A Rite of Committal will follow the reception at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A special thank you to the nursing staff and doctors of Concordia Hospital for their support and care given to Emily and her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Emily to the CancerCare Foundation of Manitoba. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.
