GISELE BURKOWSKI (nee CURE) After a courageous battle with cancer it is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Gisele, at the age of 68, on May 5, 2012 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Left to cherish Gisele's memory are her daughter-in-law Christie and grandson Thomas Bjorklund, sisters Marjorie (Waldo Fuchs), Eveline (Firmin Catellier), Reynalde Adams, Yvonne (Bill Chubaty), Irene Curé (Ron Hubbard), brother Michel Curé (Rhonda Gladue), sister-in-law Rose Curé, special friends Nora Garcia, Yvette Isabey, George Hall, and many nieces and nephews. Gisele was predeceased by husband Walter Burkowski, son Cliff Bjorklund, mother Victoire and father Armand Curé, brother Edouard, niece Rachel Chubaty, and nephew Douglas Curé. At Gisele's request cremation has taken place. We will celebrate the memory of Gisele's life with a service Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy (ECF), 414 Tweed Ave., Winnipeg. A reception and time of sharing will follow. Heartfelt thanks to many family and friends for their love and support. Thanks also to the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Palliative Care who helped make Gisele's remaining days comfortable, and to Wheeler Funeral Chapel for their compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gisele's name to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the cancer organization of your choice.
