BENJAMIN LANG April 12, 1921 - May 12, 2012 Peacefully after a long struggle with cancer, Ben passed away at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 91 years. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Suzanne Susie;' children: Bonnie (Ron), Ben (Velma), Brian (Joyce), Belinda (Sid), Bobby (Sherry); as well as Gigi's 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Ben is also survived by three of his brothers: Ted (Delphine), Wally and Peter and sister, Stella. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Ann, brothers: Bill, Alex, Dan and sister, Alice. Ben worked for Maple Leaf Mills for 30 years and shared many stories with his family. Ben and Susie were married 63 years and raised their family on the same street that they grew up on. Ben loved his family and nothing made him happier than singing, playing cards and entertaining family and friends. He enjoyed frequent visits to the Nicolett and Club Regent. He was happiest in his garden where his green thumb supplied the biggest and best vegetables to family, friends and strangers alike. He always reminded us that his garden was Heaven here on Earth. Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful staff on 3East at Riverview. Especially all his Little Girls and Paul who made him feel like family. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street, with reception following the service. Interment will then take place after the reception at the Belgian Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ben's memory to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO. Ben was one of those patients who stuck with me. I talked many nights with him about his gardening and his life. He gave me some great life advice. He will be missed by many. I wish his family strength. I am so grateful I was able to meet him. - Posted by: Robyn (Student nurse) on: Oct 22, 2012
