GILBERT JOSEPH NORMAND It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Gilbert Normand on Friday, May 11, 2012, at the age of 53 years. Gilbert was predeceased by his parents, Marcel and Theresa (nee Frobisher) Normand and sister, Shirley Dyck. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lorraine; sister, Linda (Bill) Vallittu; brother, Albert (Pat) Normand; sisters, Joanne Normand and Julie Normand (Bruce Herie); brother, David Normand and sister, Maggie Normand. Gilbert will also be missed by brothers-in-law: Barry (Sandra) Hurrie, Ron (Darlene) Hurrie, Alvin (Linda) Hurrie, Terry (Angie) Hurrie, Chris (Lynne) Hurrie and Phil (Claudia) Lavallee as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of 5E, St. Boniface Hospital for all their care and compassion. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Gilbert to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating Gilbert's life will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. So sorry for the loss of the family. I remember when I was 14 I used to go to my grandmother. Frobisher Gilbert used to call me there and stay on the phone for hours.
