MURIEL JOYCE KORELL (HILL) With deep sorrow the family announces the sudden passing of our precious Mom and devoted grandma Muriel Joyce Korell on May 27, 2012 at Park Manor Personal Care Home, at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her first husband and our beloved dad Jim Cooney, by her parents Jack and Constance Hill, also her sisters Irene, Jean, Mary, Dorothy and brother Tom. Left to cherish her memory are her sister Kathleen and brothers John (Lorna), Harvey (Dianna); children Frank (Janet), Idris (Lucille), Twylana (Paul); grandchildren Jim (Leanne), Brent, Kevin, Desiree and Jesse; great-grandchildren Casara, Amanda, Kendra, Kierra, Jayden, and Brianna, also numerous nieces and nephews. In 1987 Mom met and married her second husband Lou Korell. Our Mom was born March 29, 1920 in Boissevain, Manitoba, also where she grew up and where she met our dad Jim Cooney. They were married in 1939 and resided in Brandon and then later in Winnipeg where they raised their three children. Mom loved to crochet, knit, puzzles, word search, shopping and above all Old Country Music. A very big heartfelt thank you to the very devoted and endless, compassionate care to the staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home, you are angels in disguise. At her request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg.
