GEORGE JOSEPH NARCISSE RICARD September 28, 1943 - June 27, 2012 Georges (George) Joseph Narcisse Ricard was born the eldest of seven siblings in Ste. Anne, Manitoba on September 28, 1943. By necessity he turned to the labor force early in life and was employed as a semi-truck driver most of his working years. He joined the 6 Jim Whitecross RCAC Squadron and in 1962 enlisted with the 402 Air Reserve Squadron where he served as an aircraft mechanic. George's marriage union produced three sons, all of whom serve in uniform and of whom he was irrepressibly proud. With a reputation as a handy man who could fix anything, he collected many projects from his friends and neighbourhood. Among his many talents, he was also a square dance caller and instructor, and bartender at the Duke of Kent Legion. He was a trusting, friendly and sociable man who made time for chatting with friends over a cup of COFFEE. On June 5, 2012, George found a new and faithful Friend who promised to never leave nor forsake him, and became a new man by trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone for his justification before God. He showed a new joy and peace as he struggled with cancer. Then, peacefully on June 27, 2012, George left the cares of this world behind him for the glory of gazing into the face of his Lord and Saviour. As for Me, I will see YOUR face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied when I awake in YOUR likeness - Psalm 17:15. A Celebration of George's Life will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery Crematorium, 1800 Day Street with John Plantz Officiating. • I met George in 1992, his brother Roger introduced me to him. George was smiling and friendly, he immediately invited us to go to square dancing lessons. So I went and George explained how to square dance. We went around the room dancing many times before the class arrived. George was smiling and full of joy. He loved to be a square dance caller. George was a real gentleman and lovingly talked about his children. He desired to see them more and was very proud of his children. Being with your mom and Roger in the afterlife will comfort you. I am glad that you found real joy in this life and that Jesus renewed your spirit. You're greatly missed. Love Catherine. - Posted by: Catherine Ricard (sister in law ) on: Nov 18, 2014

  • We will be with you George, not in body but in spirit. We will be keeping this Thursday your day. We will think of you. And we will say a prayer for you at the same time as your sons and families and our siblings will be saying theirs. It is time to rest in God's arms. No more suffering and no more worries for you. You will not have to fix His car as I'm sure it works quite well. Just sit back and watch your family grow. We will meet again George but in a much better place. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Armande & Ray Klapprat (Sister and Brother in law) on: Jul 02, 2012

  • George was a very generous and loving person. I only knew him for a couple of years but in that time I learnt alot from him. From learning how to cook a stirfry to having heavily-heated discussions about Diabetes. George you will be greatly missed but I know you are at peace now. George you have not died, but merely gone to a better place, free of pain and suffering. We will meet again some day. Take care George. My thoughts and prayers to George's family. He was a great man and you were lucky to have him as a Father. Rest In Peace George - Posted by: Patricia (Friend) on: Jun 30, 2012
