Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBENJAMIN HARDER December 5, 1951 - July 16, 2012. Mourning his passing are his beloved family; wife and best friend Viola, daughters Julie (Lonnie) Pannell and Crystal (Andrew) Isaacs, sons Michael and Sheldon, granddaughters Raelynn, Lucy and Anna Isaacs and granddog Dexter Pannell. He is also survived by his mother Tina Harder, his siblings, extended family and close friends. He is predeceased by his father John Harder and his mother and father-in-law Mary and David Thiessen. Ben will be remembered for his gentleness, kindness, quirky sense of humour and bad hair days. He took great pride and enjoyment in his work as a carpenter. His passions were his family, his cottage and creating stained glass artwork, which he shared generously with those he loved. Ben's life reflected his deep faith and as his suffering came to an end, he longed to meet his Jesus. We are comforted in our deep loss by the knowledge that he is finally at peace. The family would especially like to thank family practitioner Dr. C. Isaac and the staff at the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional care. The funeral will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012, at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematorium, 1800 Day Street, at 10:00 a.m. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery Crematorium 1800 Day Street 224-1525

My sincere condolences to the family. I was fortunate to have a good friend during our teenage years and throughout high school. I remember a road trip with Ben to southern Ontario. Many other memories revolve around church, young peoples and the Lord whom he loved so dearly. Now he is with his best friend of all!! Thanks Ben. - Posted by: Helmut Kasdorf (Friend) on: Jul 18, 2012

I have always enjoyed Ben's quirky sense of humour since I met him when he was in eighth grade and I was the primary school teacher at his school. During recess and lunch hour he'd come to tease and chat with me. I have always felt that I played some part in his becoming a member of the Thiessen clan. I have also enjoyed his creative side. When I met him, he was making revel stick lamps and I had one in our home for many years till it fell apart. We are honoured to have two of his stained glass pieces, an angel and a hanging which he chose with care and suits our home perfectly. We will treasure them and whenever we see them will always think fondly of the gentle, quiet man who touched our hearts profoundly. - Posted by: Helen Penner (sister-in-law) on: Jul 18, 2012
