I attended Howden Elementary School from 1970-1976, Randy was a year older than me. School was so intimidating for a shy young girl back then. Randy was very popular among his school chums. Rather than exclude, he chose to included others, even the ones who where a bit younger. Recess time was the best time! Flag football, softball, tetherball, and the long jump lines painted on the asphalt! We would run and leap and and see how many feet we could jump! He was such a fast runner, and a great athlete! I often tried to impress him, and I admired him for including me. He had that smile!! We all played for badges for sport activities, 100 yard dash, the flexed arm hang, the long jump, then we all got badges to sew on our jackets. I am sure Randy got the "award for excellence!" I heard of his passing and mourned his loss then, as a teen. I wanted to let his family know that I have thought of him often over the years and the consistent happy go lucky guy with a great smile and never ending kindness for others. My condolences at this difficult time of year. Remembering Randy, a friend. - Posted by: Gwen Bryson (MacLean) (Friend) on: Jul 23, 2019
