RAE (LORAINE) MCNAMARA It is with deep sorrow, and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Rae McNamara at the St. Boniface Hospital. Rae was predeceased by her father Rodrique Vermette and her daughter Lori-Ann McNamara. She will be lovingly remembered by Harvey McNamara, Tim Obenauer, her children Sarah Berg (Kevin), Jenny McNamara, grandchildren Justice and Aaliyah, parents Lori and George Vermette, Siblings Kim White, Dawn Bering, Johnny Starrett, Rhonda Vermette, Rod Vermette and many family members. She will be sadly missed by her many friends, and loved ones. She died peacefully on the evening of Wednesday, July 25, 2012, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Rae enjoyed spending her time in a multitude of activities, some of which included spending time in her garden with her dogs, baking with Justice, gardening with Aaliyah, and would love to lose herself in the wilderness while camping and fishing. Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. Cremation has taken place with a family service to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day Street, with interment at St. Vital Cemetery to follow. The family would like to thank the support staff on the 6E wing, and a very special thank you to the nurses on the Palliative Care Ward at the St. Boniface Hospital, especially Lizanne, who helped Rae and all of us through this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to The Humane Society, or CancerCare Manitoba.
