CARL HRYNKIW It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce that Carl Hrynkiw passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Concordia Hospital with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife Eleanor, daughter Cheryl (Vince), sons; Brad (Wendy) and Mark (Kimberly), grandchildren: Leah, Braden, Justin, Jordan, Bradley, Nicholas, Kaitlyn and Natasha, sisters-in-law Adeline (Peter) and Yolanda in Toronto, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Carl was predeceased by his parents Julia and Peter Hrynkiw; brothers Joe, Jack, Frank, Edward, Stanley and Walter and sisters Nellie, Stella, Bertha, Violet and Jean. Carl was born on February 28, 1931, and raised in Cooks Creek, Manitoba. He was the youngest of 12 children and stayed on the farm until he got a job at Westeel in St. Boniface where he was a devoted worker for 47 years. During these years, he met Eleanor and they married in 1958. Carl enjoyed fishing and playing cards with friends. He loved his children and adored his grandchildren, and was very proud of them. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Concordia NIN for their care and comfort. In keeping with Carl's wishes, a funeral for family and close friends was held on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at St. Gerard Church, followed by interment at Transcona Cemetery. If desired, a donation in Carl's memory can be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba at 7-414 Westmount Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2J 1P2.
