As I was numerizing my old pictures this morning, I found one of myself in front of the little plane Deidre took me for a flight (that was on a visit in Toronto in July 1988 or 1989). I then thought I could try to find her address on Internet in order to get in touch again, but discovered Sheena's tribute instead. What a shock! We first met in Barcelona on summer 1983 and kept in touch for quite awhile afterwards. I am sure I have a picture of her somewhere, and would be glad to send it to her sister and family (but I do not want to open a profile on facebook, twitter or else). My email address is available, and I would be glad to send this picture I must have somewhere. I must even have some pictures of when she was in the Army, pictures she sent me as we kept on writing to each other. I remember the good time we shared in Barcelona, at the youth hostel right in front of the park. So sorry to hear of Deirdre's passing. We got to know each other as pilots trying to earn our stripes back in the late 80's and early 90's in Thompson, MB. Always had a smile for you and occasionally would cook a bunch of us a delicious home cooked meal. She cooked a huge Christmas dinner one year while many of us were away from home and some spending Christmas away for the first time. My condolences to her family on your loss. - Posted by: Keith Murdock (old friend) on: Aug 21, 2012

The Deirdre I remember was a determined girl who made it her personal mission not to miss a day of school for ANY reason. And of course, she was successful! Deirdre set her sights on a goal and she went for it. She was spirited and strong. Her family and mine shared many Christmas dinners together. My heart goes out to her husband and to Sheena and her family for this tragic loss. Much, much too soon. - Posted by: Moira MacDonald (Former neighbour) on: Aug 21, 2012

Our sincere condolences. Although we had not seen each other in a number of years, I have many fond memories of visiting with Dierdre, Sheena, Margaret and Joe as a youth. Dierdre was always the adventurous one - flying, riding and always happy. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with Ron and family. - Posted by: Ken Mackay (Cousin) on: Aug 19, 2012

Ron, we were deeply saddened by the passing of your lovely wife Deirdre. We have those great shared memories in Hawaii last year. If time shall be held let it be by the thoughts and memories and the joy of knowing Deirdre. Love Lonny and Diana Sheffield - Posted by: Lonny and Diana Sheffield (Friends) on: Aug 16, 2012
