MARIO DI PIETRO April 21, 1937 August 20, 2012 Peacefully, on August 20, 2012, Mario Di Pietro passed away with his family by his side. To cherish his memory, he leaves his loving wife of over 50 years, Angela and their children Lia Baksina and her children Catrina, Alessandra, Roselina; Angelo and Karen and their children Celina and Brianna; sister Maria (Jean-Pierre) Cervino and their son Florent (Fabienne); brother Aldo (Pat) Di Pietro and their children Adrien, Diana and Tim Gillis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, Rm. 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E-0V9 . Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church 510 River Avenue. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the Mass. Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano celebrant. Interment to follow at a later date. MARIO DI PIETRO April 21, 1937 - August 20, 2012 Peacefully, on August 20, 2012, Mario Di Pietro passed away with his family by his side. Mario was predeceased by his parents Angelo and Lia Di Pietro. To cherish his memory, he leaves his loving wife of over 50 years, Angela and their children Lia Baksina and her children Catrina, Alessandra, Roselina; Angelo and Karen and their children Celina and Brianna; sister Maria (Jean-Pierre) Cervino and their son Florent (Fabienne); brother Aldo (Pat) Di Pietro and their children Adrien, Diana and Tim Gillis. Mario was born in Scanno, Italy on April 21, 1937. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1958, after living and working in post-war France. Mario married his soul mate Angela in 1961. Mario embraced his new home and life in Canada and took pride in providing for his family both here and abroad. His legacy lives in the lives he touched with the work he did as a tradesman, as Nonno, father, husband, friend and neighbour. The family wishes to thank all those who supported Dad and our families during this period of our lives. We appreciate the care given to Dad by Dr. Ball, Dr. Park, Dr. Daeninck and the numerous staff on the Palliative Care Ward of the St. Boniface Hospital. I am so sorry for your loss. When I think of the good things I experienced out in St. Laurent I think of the times of interaction with Mario. He was a gentle soul with a heart of gold. My dearest condolences to the DI PIETRO family in the loss of Mario. I knew him from the lake in St. Laurent. He was a good man and will be missed deeply. Dear Angela and family, words sometimes are difficult to find in these very trying times. My memories of Mario are, of a man of Integrity, Strength, Dedication, Hardworking, Loving, Kind, Respectful and always a tender smile on his face! This is truly a legacy that you can all be proud of, who Mario was as a man, a real and true example of what a man should be, married for 50 yrs. to the love of his life Angelina and dedicated to the nurturing and well being of his beloved family!!
