DENIS EDMOND TAILLIEU
Born: Jul 20, 1952
Date of Passing: Aug 22, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENIS EDMOND TAILLIEU 1952 - 2012 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband and father Denis Taillieu on August 22, 2012 while on business in Kelowna, at the age of 60. Left to cherish Denis' memory is his wife of 35 years, Susan (Nagy) and their children David (Melanie) and Ashley (Michael). Denis is survived by his sister Karen, brothers Gerry (Cheryl), Brian (Geraldine) and Richard (Sandra). He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends, both personal and professional. Born on July 20, 1952 to Godfrey and Rita (Caron) Taillieu, Denis grew up on the family farm in Charleswood. Soon after graduating from the University of Manitoba Denis met Susan and they wed on October 9, 1976. David was born shortly after in 1978 and Ashley followed in 1981. In 1986, Denis and Susan purchased a family cabin which quickly became the oasis away from home. As a family, they spent countless hours on the water with Denis teaching his children how to waterski or in the cottage playing a game of Rummy. Memories that will last forever. Denis quietly built an impressive business career, first as a Chartered Accountant, retiring after 17 years as a partner with KPMG, then thriving as part of the senior management teams of Assante Corporation and Pavillion Financial Corporation. His partners, colleagues, clients and friends valued his wisdom, loyalty, leadership and legendary work ethic. Denis worked closely with many of the same team members for nearly two decades. The family would like to especially thank Barb Grace for her hard work and dedication. Barb's efforts played a key role in Denis' success. Denis will be greatly missed and his contribution always remembered. When you couldn't find Denis at the office you could find him on the beach with his family escaping the cold Winnipeg winters or at the cottage cruising around the lake on his boat. As often as he won at the office, he took pleasure in losing to his children during a round of golf or a tennis match. The last eight months were filled with the joy of celebrating David's wedding on December 31 and Ashley's on July 12. These and other family gatherings gave Denis the opportunity to enjoy good times with his extended and expanding family and for this we are thankful. A celebration of Denis' life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550

Karen & Rick, I guess we know you the best - So sorry to hear of your brother's sudden passing. Our thoughts are with you guys and Denis's immediate family. One consolation is that this didn't happen prior to Godfrey's passing. It doesn't seem right to lose your child first. Take care. - Posted by: Janet & Robyn McCombe & the Clan (Dad's Oswald Bay neighbours) on: Aug 28, 2012
