I am deeply saddened to hear that Gertie has passed away. She was a very close friend of my late mother, Evelyn Moran, and I have strong memories of Karl and Gertie throughout my childhood. It really meant a great deal to me when they attended my mother's funeral in November 2010, and I would like to extend my condolences to Karl and the family during this very difficult time. - Posted by: Diane Moran () on: Sep 03, 2012

My deepest condolences to the entire family. I remember Mrs. Pawella as a warm and friendly lady with a lovely smile. I found a photo the other day of Bobby, Stanley and myself with Mr. and Mrs. Van Santen behind us. The Pawella family were lovely neighbours and I am so sorry for your loss. Take care of one another. - Posted by: Andrea Konyk Hall (former neighbour on Nairn Avenue) on: Aug 31, 2012

Dear Karl and family, It is with profound sorrow that I send my condolences to you on the passing of your wife, mother and a dear friend. Gertrude meant a lot to me and my family in those early years when my family was growing fast and furiously. She was a marvelous help to me and my children all remember her fondly. She was always so happy and I liked being around her. I was saddened to know that she had been suffering with cancer and my heart goes out to all of you. May I offer my prayers and deepest sympathies. Carol Kennedy - Posted by: Carol and Dan Kennedy (friend) on: Aug 29, 2012
