• I am deeply saddened to hear that Gertie has passed away. She was a very close friend of my late mother, Evelyn Moran, and I have strong memories of Karl and Gertie throughout my childhood. Gertrude meant a lot to me and my family in those early years when my family was growing fast and furiously. She was a marvelous help to me and my children all remember her fondly.
