Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRED BEESTON After just over 100 years of quiet tenancy here on earth, Fred Beeston, a good man, died peacefully, with his family at his side on August 25, 2012. Fred is survived by his wife, Helen, and his children, Murray, Shelley (Bob) and Brad (Darlene), Helen's children, Raymond (Marcia), Joyce (Bob), Brian (Helen), and Leslie (Maurice) and his brother Stan (Molly), many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jessie May, his brothers, Bert and Art and sisters, Dorothy and Audrey. Born July 15, 1912, in Liverpool, England, Fred came to Canada at age 11 with his parents, Albert and Rosan, living first in Alberta on a farm near Cadogan. He loved the farm and fondly remembered riding horse bareback and walking to school alongside his pony. Both in Alberta and later in St. James, Manitoba, he worked a team of horses threshing grain. At 15, Fred moved to Winnipeg with his family, and at first worked making deliveries on a bicycle summer and winter. During the Second World War, Fred served in the Air Force. He retired from the Department of National Defense in 1972. Service will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg on Friday, August 31 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation 1:00 p.m.

Mom & Dad were totally devoted to each other, thru sickness, in health, taking many wonderful trips together, and always stopping for a cup of tea. They hosted family gatherings, had many, many happy times together, and everyone was welcome in their home, anytime. They also loved going for coffee and supper, even going just weeks before Dad died to Tim Hortons' by Handi-Transit for their coffee and sandwich. We all miss Dad so very much and know he's watching over us, guiding us all to be the best we can be. We would like to extend our sympathy to Helen and family at this difficult time. Helen and Fred were married 32 years and during that time had a wonderful companionship together. She will surely miss those many outings they shared together going shopping to Polo Park and stopping for coffee or dinner after, as well as their comfortable times together at home. Our condolences go out to Freds children, Murray, Shelly and Brad and families. We know you will miss him.
