Marie was also very active in many community activities, a strong supporter of her church and a life-long member of the Catholic Women's League. Grand-Grand-Mère's life was rich and full. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I am sorry to hear the passing of " tante Marie". I always called your parents as uncle & aunt. They were close to our family and I hold dear memories of them. Each time I went to visit Mom (Anna Pittet) at Foyer Valade, I would visit with her. I was always amazed on her wit and spirit for live. Her family meant the world to her, and I am sure she is your angel watching over you all now. Love Marc & Jo-Anne Toupin - Posted by: Jo-Anne (Pittet)Toupin () on: Oct 08, 2012

  • Our heartfelt sympathy, Lea, Guy and all the family on the loss of Marie, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and our "Auntie" and friend to many. (Vivianne): Among many fond memories, I remember one special day many years ago. I was young and fresh from little Ste. Rose. Auntie Marie proposed a picnic in the park. Just the two of us. A blanket spread on the grass by the river, a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken and, merveille de merveilles, a bottle of beer each. Her kind understanding and interest made me feel so grown up. - Posted by: Vivianne (Maillard) and Victor Drought (Niece) on: Oct 06, 2012

  • Dear Lea & Guy and Family, Our sincerest condolences on the passing of your mum, grandmother & great-grandmother. Marie was a lovely and caring lady and will be missed by everyone who knew her. We tried to keep contact, but the last few years we were not able to connect with her by phone and wondered what had happened to her. It is not always easy to keep contact from a place as far away as Australia. Having reached the age of 100, she certainly had a long and fruitful life. She was always proud of her family and we know you all loved her dearly and will have looked after her lovingly to the end. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you celebrate her wonderful life.
