Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES WILLIAM EMSLIE On Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 1:16 p.m. the world lost a true gentleman with the passing of James (Jim) William Emslie. Left to cherish his memory are; his beloved wife of 18 years, Cynthia (Cindy) Emslie; his son Gregg (Heather) Emslie; his daughters Sheila (Andrew) Liddle and Jill (Glen) Pownall; his grandchildren Taylor Liddle, Sydney Liddle, Ian Emslie; Kyan Pownall and Kendra Pownall. He is also survived by his parents-in-law Lawrence and Anne Anderson, brother-in-law Ron (Marie), Aunt Liz Karman, his sister Connie Corsair (Bob), Wiona Emslie, the mother of his children, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was born and raised in Transcona by his parents William and Jessie Emslie and graduated from Central high-school. He is remembered for his love of sports, his sense of humour and his card playing ability. Jim was an avid golfer and most recently was able to share in the game with his grandson Ian. Jim had a varied work experience, most notably working for IBM, MTS, and the Government of Manitoba. He won countless achievement awards for top sales both individually and as a team member. Throughout his career Jim touched the lives of many people and formed friendships that remain to this day. Jim and Cindy enjoyed traveling to hot destinations and three years ago made the decision to purchase a home in Phoenix, Arizona. A great place to golf, shop and enjoy the sun. He will be greatly missed as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald Street Winnipeg MB, R3L 0K6.
