GERARD DEURBROUCK It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Gerard Deurbrouck of Paradise Village, Ste. Anne, Manitoba, on November 21, 2012 at Wellton, Arizona at the age of 74. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Vivian, sons Richard and Denis, granddaughter Michelle (Riley), and grandson Derek, brothers Robert (Cecile), Lucien (Diane), Laurent, John (Angie), sisters Rita (John) Lamy and Denise (Maurice) Wytinck, sisters-in-law Edna Findlay and Freda (Richard) Carlson. He was predeceased by his parents Julien and Letitia, and sister-in-law Anita. Gerry was born and raised in Bruxselles. He was involved in square dancing and old time dancing and pattern dancing. He played the mandolin and banjo. Gerry moved to Paradise Village in 1999 where he made a lot of dear friends. He enjoyed his jam sessions in Paradise and Arizona. He loved camping with family and friends. He enjoyed hobbies of woodworking and was a perfectionist. For the last nine years he spent in Willton, Arizona he enjoyed jam sessions and tailgate parties with his many dear friends. He retired from the Norwood School Division in 1993. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Gerry to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, or the CancerCare Foundation of Manitoba. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Schroeder, Dr. Ade Olujohungbe and Dr. R. Duval of St. Anne, Don and Gail Tulloch and Gerry and Betty Ferguson for their loving care and support.
