Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROLE ANNE POWELL (née REYNOLDS) March 17, 1940 - December 12, 2012 Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Carole passed away at the Riverview Health Centre on December 12, 2012. Carole was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) in 1994; parents Jack and Marjorie Reynolds; father-in-law and mother-in-law Bert and Eva Powell; and sister-in-law Joan Powell. Carole will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, James and wife Corina and their two children Nathan and Nicole, and David and wife Micheline; her brother Robert and wife Bonnie Reynolds of Medicine Hat and their daughter Sarah; brother-in-law Edward of Calgary and his four children John, Stephen, Shelly, and Trudy; as well as cousins and many friends. Carole was born and raised in Calgary, ultimately meeting her husband Bill there. Shortly after marrying, Carole and Bill moved, spending a brief time in Hamilton and Brandon before finally settling down in Winnipeg in 1967. Carole had several jobs over the years but her true passion was for children. After raising her sons, Carole helped raise many other children over the years as a nanny, both in her home as well as other people's homes. Carole was also very involved over the years with Winakwa Community Center where she coached boys' hockey and baseball as well as helping run the Winakwa Gold Cup Hockey Tournament for several years. She enjoyed golf, bowling and especially baseball and hockey. She loved many pets throughout the years and Cassidy was there when she first became ill. A special thank you to the staff at Riverview Health Centre 2 West for their care and compassion for our mom. The memorial will be at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodière Blvd., at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Riverview Health Centre, One Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4 or Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0R3. We will always cherish the memories. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

Jamie, David & families, I have just heard of Carole's passing and I am so sorry to hear. I hadn't seen her in ages and didn't know she was ill. We used to have alot of fun at the old Jets games, as we were both down to earth and naturally liked hockey. She will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Sheila (Friend from the past) on: Dec 19, 2012

Condolences to the family. I remember the outdoor rinks at Winakwa when Carole and I would watch our kids play hockey. Also her lovely roast beef and Yorkshire pudding suppers. Many memories.... - Posted by: Nancy Kostiuk (Friend) on: Dec 19, 2012

Carol had a deep love for her family. She always spoke about Nathan and Nicole. I will miss her as she was much more than a cousin to me as we lived together after we finished school. We took golf lessons at this time and we both enjoyed the game. We also both loved animals and in particular our dogs. Carol was a special lady and she left her mark on all of us who loved her. - Posted by: Valerie Lowrie (Cousin) on: Dec 19, 2012

we are very sorry for your loss. Carol was a very special lady. When I was small Carol used to take me skating and to see Santa at Christmas time. I still remember those times. I had the opportunity to have dinner with Carol about a year ago and she was still the same wonderful lady I remembered. - Posted by: Barrie and Carol Petterson (cousin) on: Dec 18, 2012

So sorry for your loss. Your Mom was a great lady. We have lots of good memories of your Mom and Dad, from back in the days, when we were all involved with the trails and tributes of the community club. She will be surely missed. - Posted by: Terry and Brenda Millar (Friends) on: Dec 15, 2012
