OLGA SHUWERA (KIANSKY) March 4, 1922 - December 21, 2012 Peacefully, with her family by her side, Olga passed away at Bethesda Hospital (Steinbach) shortly after receiving blessings given by Chaplain Joy. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in July 2010, her parents Dmytro and Maria Kiansky, and brothers Bill, Jerry and Eugene. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Bernice Antoniuk (Peter), grandchildren Audra (Pat), Lyle (Tracy) and their son Zach; son Ben (Bev), grandchildren Cheryl (Michael), Jeffrey, Robin (Norm), Renee, Shan (Tanis), Shana (Shane) and their families; six great-grand-children, and one great-great grandson. She is also survived by sisters Anne, Jean and Iris (Jim), brother Mike (Frances), and many nieces and nephews. Mom worked alongside Dad on the farm in the Arbakka area before moving to the village of Vita. She was employed at the Vita Hospital for 25 years as a nurse's aide. Upon retirement, Mom enjoyed outdoor activities such as gardening and fishing with Dad. During her younger years, Mom could always be found helping her friends and neighbours in time of need, and actively participated in church activities for many years. Olga was a social person who enjoyed meeting people. She and Dad enjoyed attending dances in the local communities where they could frequently be found out on the dance floor. As her health declined, she became a resident of the Vita Personal Care Home, and lived there for four years before her passing. The family wishes to thank all who cared for Mom at the facility, as well as those at Bethesda Hospital during her final week. Special thanks to Dr. Muhammed of the Vita Health Centre. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A private family interment will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of one's choice. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.
