JOHN EDGAR POFF It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of John Edgar Poff, aged 66, on January 1, 2013. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce, children Allison and Brian (Cheryl) and grandson Charlie, father Gerald, brothers Tom (Lorna) and Jim (Lisa), nephew Ian (Allison) and nieces Hilary, Melanie and Kelley. John was predeceased by his mother Alma. John was born and raised in Winnipeg. He attended Churchill High and went on to receive his Bachelor of Commerce at the U. of M. He continued his education and became a Chartered Accountant. He worked for many years in this field. John loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching NFL, golf and curling. The family would like to thank the many Home Care workers who made it possible for John to spend time at home. We also thank the staff at Riverview Palliative Care and the Grace Hospice for their care and compassion during the last few months. A special thank you to family and friends who have supported us through our difficult times. A private celebration of John's life will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so wish, donations may be made in John's memory to Grace Hospice or Riverview Palliative Care.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Joyce you may not remember me but I worked with John at Coopers. In fact John took me on one of my first jobs there. His dad and my dad worked together at Sony. I have fond memories of John and wish you and your family great strength in dealing with his loss. I realize that John had a stroke a few years ago and times have been challenging. Best wishes to all of you. John and Sheila Boyd - Posted by: John Boyd (Co-worker) on: May 17, 2013
