BRUCE EDOUARD RACETTE It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Bruce Racette our husband, father, brother, cousin, soon to be grandfather and friend on Thursday December 27, 2012 at his residence in Winnipeg. Bruce was born May 11, 1948 in St. Boniface and spent his entire life in the surrounding area, making many lasting friendships. To say Bruce had an infectious personality would be an understatement. He made friends easily wherever his travels took him. Bruce had a heart of gold, was very generous, and was always willing to help anyone in need. Although Bruce spent his entire career in the trucking and heavy equipment industry. He also developed a passion for cooking. Bruce thoroughly enjoyed preparing and hosting his traditional Sunday feasts for his family and many friends. Laughter, love, and good times were shared by many over the years. Bruce also had a special relationship with his beloved pets who will miss him dearly. Bruce's friendship, love, generosity, and all around 'Zest for Life' will be missed by many and will leave an everlasting void in our lives. A celebration of Bruce's life will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at the St. Emile Catholic church. • Dearest Brucie, it's still so hard to believe you are gone. Oscar and I will be talking about something we did or should have done together and our eyes fill with tears. Thank you for all the love and laughter you provided in our lifetime of friendship. We think of and miss you every single day. - Posted by: Oscar & Jan (extended family) on: Jan 22, 2013

  • Darling: It's already been two weeks. How time flies. I feel like we lost you yesterday. I have tried to be strong for you, as you have often stated "you need to be strong" when it came to emergencies. Giving and sharing was your strong point, even during times of distress. I love you forever and ever, and I know you are safe and sound, because in the end, you did believe and you have shown me so. I can't wait to hear, see, feel, touch and kiss you again. Wait for me baby! I Love You, Marianne S. Racette - Posted by: Marianne Racette (Wife) on: Jan 10, 2013

  • I was born and raised in St. Boniface and met Bruce in school. I now live in Nebraska and when I read his name, it brought back GRAT memories. Especially his car and our rides from school to home. Sorry for every ones loss. - Posted by: Valerie Mason (Childhood friend) on: Jan 05, 2013

  • Brucey, you were king of the road! what a cutie at all ages. every girl had a crush on you and you were always a gentleman with me. Your smile and wink did it for you!!!I laughed deep down in the gut with you. You were like a modern day swashbuckling pirate fooling lots with your gold. Time with you for me was like a Red River exhibition ride: thrilling and short. The sound of a big rig gearing down engine, pull of the horn and a wave from you...all good!!!!!easy riding my friend..Myrna - Posted by: Myrna Moore (friend and John Bruce Rd neighbour) on: Jan 04, 2013

  • I met Bruce as a total stranger years ago. My sister arranged for me to get a ride from Vancouver to Winnipeg with him in his truck so I could be home for Christmas. Nineteen hours in a cab with a Trucker who looks a lot like doctor hook, this is going to be awkward I thought to myself. Maybe by Saskatchewan things will get better, But by the time we hit Golden, 30 min later I realized, This was probably one of the most interested and "quality" people life throws at you. And he was. Open, honest and genuinely interested what I had to say we talked and Bullsh!#ed until I was dropped off at my sister's front door for Christmas. Glad I met you in this life Bruce Thanks again Ill play some Steve Earl in your Honor. Cheers to passion and the ones who keep it alive!! - Posted by: Robert Wilk (acquaintance) on: Jan 03, 2013

  • In life we meet people that we will never forget and Bruce is one of them and yes he had a big heart and never said no when I needed help. He gave me such a good laugh every time we saw each other. I'm in Ont. for winter and sorry to family that I can't be there. Well when he gets to heaven all I can say is LOOK OUT as they will know he has got there. Glen! - Posted by: Glen Smith (Friend) on: Jan 03, 2013
