When I first mang Totong (Joe) all we both had are huge smiles looking at each other and saying " Good things really come in small packages" Kitang kita mo talaga sa kanya ang tunay na kahulugan ng pagkakapwa tao, I have shared with him the pride of being Filipino and serving Filipino families whenever we can. I will miss his all smiles and low tone of voice at all times. May you rest in peace "Mang Totong" - Posted by: Orly Sanchez (long time acquaintance) on: Jan 10, 2013

Your sweet smile everytime you meet him anywhere brings such joy and warm greetings to all that have know him. His love for children brings back memories when I took my son who was six at that time to a remote broadcast at United Army Surplus at Portage Avenue. It was snow storming that day but he maked sure that everyone including my son who sat on his lap the whole time had a wonderful time, talked to him, played with him and gave him some fishing articles. Joe you're one of a kind and I know you'll be missed by the community. Say Hi to the Father in heaven when you meet him up there. Peace be with you my friend. - Posted by: Aida Champagne (Friend /acquintance) on: Jan 10, 2013

After meeting Joe in person in response to his invitation to share gardening tips and expertise on air at CKJS, we have since shared a passion about growing oriental vegetables and flowers. Remembering him with his wife Alma immerse himself in the sight, smell and taste of what it is like to be back home complete with the sound of crowing chicken by simply being in my garden is the ultimate reward in creating a private ground which serves the intended purpose. The spring and summer blooms will have an added meaning with thoughts and memories of you. - Posted by: Joe (Epo) Blanco and wife Tess (Friends) on: Jan 09, 2013

All the memories I have of Ninong Joe are those of you with a big smile, a big hug and lots of laughs. Although we didn't see each other often, during the times we did cross paths you were always as loving as I remembered you from when I was a child growing up. From my family to yours, condolences...you will truly be missed by all those who were blessed to have known you. Rest now Ninong Joe, rest in peace. - Posted by: Marissa Ramos (Goddaughter ) on: Jan 09, 2013

I would like to express my sincere condolences. It seems like only yesterday that Joe's one of a kind voice greeted us each day on CKJS radio. We are all truly fortunate to have known such a humorous, kindred man in our life. No comfort is quite enough to replace our loss. Over the years, having shared many memories organizing and planning with Joe and the Pasig Association I came to realize his great kindness and compassion towards his friends and family. He was highly respected throughout our Filipino community. You will be missed, take care my friend. Our prayers and deepest sympathy to the Sulit family. I have known Joe from the time that he was employed at New Flyer Industries. Joe was an active union member and it was with his support together with Bob Luna and Pablo Jajalla that the CAIMAW union was able to ensure that Flyer Industries (which was a crown corporation at the time) would not be closed and cause hundreds of job losses. Because of that hard work, dedication and support Flyer is still in existence, employing hundreds of people in our community. Thank you Joe. Si Joe ay matapat na kaibigan; hindi mo masusubukan na manlamang ng kapwa; laging handang tumulong at magsilbi sa mga nangangailangan. He always has kind words at para kay Joe 'walang masamang tinapay'. He will be missed but his memories will stay with us. Our prayers and sympathy to Alma, Ka Letty, and entire Sulit family. - Posted by: Tess Marcelino (Friend) on: Jan 08, 2013

Joe is a good man. i have know him for such a long time. in fact, i have know him personally since he started working with CKJS. We started being close when i join the "tuklas talino" contest. He never drink nor smoke. When we met at a house party which he is always invited,I always make sure that if he is offered a drink by the host,I took over.We always talked about fishing & retirement...."I am going to miss you Joe,but I know you are in a good place. Farewell my good friend". - Posted by: Felipe Bejar (Long time friend) on: Jan 08, 2013
