NICOLAS (NICK) THOMAS VOYER-TAYLOR With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, cousin, friend Nicolas Voyer-Taylor. Nick went to meet up with his dad on the other side on January 8, 2013. He died doing what he loved, snowboarding, while celebrating life in honour of his father. He is predeceased seven years to the day by his father Thomas Donald Taylor. He is survived by his mother Julie Voyer-Taylor, his sister Rachelle Voyer-Taylor and his brother Gaëtan Voyer-Perrault (Megan), and his nephew Mason. Also mourning his untimely passing are his aunts, uncles, and very close unit of cousins. On the Taylor side, Lynda (Chris) and Daniel, Maureen (Dave) and Eric, Dana, Karen; on the Voyer side, François (Janet) Cédric, Martin (Sophia), Diane (Nick), Eric, Yves (Myriam), Mariève (Michel), Amélie, Solange, Raissa (Daniel), Sylvie (J-P), Marie-Claire, Gabriel, Vincent and Isabelle; aunts, uncles Rose (Denis), Claude (Georgette), Claire (André), Lise (Ross), Carole (Jean), Jocelyne (Laurent), Darquise (François), and Cindy. The Perraults (as he would say) he also considered as immediate family. All his life they were there on a daily basis. Nicolas was a very loyal friend to many. The Facebook tributes were numerous and very touching. Nick was born on February 6, 1990 in Saskatoon, moving to Winnipeg at 10 weeks. He attended Ecole Lacerte for seven years - then to Shamrock, where his dad could coach his Grades 7 and 8 basketball teams, he graduated from JH Bruns Collegiate in 2008. His passion for food was shared at several kitchens at home, at the campground and in Winnipeg, Kelowna and Big White; most recently at Rudy's Eat Drink in Winnipeg and Snowshoe Sam's in Big White. Nick was an avid basketball player, playing year-round throughout his teens, often coached by his father, Tom Taylor. An adventurous spirit, Nick enjoyed camping trips with his cousins at Rushing River, snowboarding in the Rocky Mountains with his buddies, and lazy Sundays on the couch watching NFL and NBA. He will be remembered most for his positive outlook on life, his heart of gold and contagious smile. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Centre culturel franco-manitobain, Provencher Blvd., Jean-Paul Aubry Hall. Donations may be made on his behalf to the Southdale Community Centre Basketball Program. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO.
