KATHERINE (KAY) UNGER It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Katherine (Kay) Unger (nee Hyduk) on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her husband, Abe (1978), and son Ron (2009). Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Linda Giesbrecht (Harry), grandsons, Steve Godkin (Britni), and Mathew Giesbrecht, two sisters, Mary Chornenki and Nellie Turchyn, and several nieces and nephews. Kay was born on June 10, 1919, in Winnipeg and grew up on the family farm in Medika. After marrying Abe, she lived most of her life in St. Vital. For many years, Kay worked at the Coffee Mug at the Bay downtown. For the past few months, Mom resided at Pembina Place Mennonite Personal Care Home and enjoyed the friendships she made there. We are grateful to the staff for their excellent care and kindness. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, with Viewing at 9:30 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Interment will be in St. Vital Cemetery, 236 River Rd.
