Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH W. THORNTON Kenneth W. Thornton passed away December 5, 2012 in Illinois. He was predeceased in death by his parents and a son Dwaine Thornton. He is survived by one son Kenneth (Deb), Bloomington, Illinois, two sisters Gail (Deve) Brunson, McMurray, Pennsylvania and Karen (Tom) Stontz, Rock Island, Illinois. Ken was a chemical engineer spending his whole career with Sinclair Oil/Arco, beginning in Harvey, Illinois, and ending with his retirement in California. Ken also leaves to mourn him, his Canadian family; fiancée Susan Hunter and her children; Jason (Tracy) Hunter, Caroline (Anthony) Wusowicz and beloved granddaughter Ashley Hunter, as well as extended family Bob and Shelly. For over 15 years, Ken was a joyful and welcome addition to our family. He loved playing Santa Ken regardless of the calendar. He brought love and laughter to countless family dinners, holidays, barbeques and toy days! Ken was helpful and considerate with all of us. He was funny and fun, loving and kind. We all had the best time with him and we will miss his presence in our lives. We are all better for having loved him. He was one in a million.

This is a very sweet tribute to Dad. He knew how happy I was that he and Susan had found each other and had lots of happy times together. I was fortunate to share some of those times with Dad and Mumsy. Words always seem inadequate for things like this, but how much everyone up there in Winnipeg loved him is expressed so wonderfully here.
