NOEL ROY Peacefully with family at his side, Noel Roy passed away after a lengthy illness at the age of 67 years on February 4, 2013 at Vista Park Lodge. He will be deeply missed by his wife Ronita, daughters Kathleen and Roxanne and granddaughter Mikayla Lynn; siblings Denise Rochon (Bill), Marcel, Carole Chiavaroli (Joe), Diane Demers (Laval), Jocelyne Briggs (Jim), all of Southern Ontario. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, brothers/sisters in law (Winnipeg), and cousins. Noel was born in St. Camille, Quebec on December 25, 1945. He spent his childhood and early adult years in Welland, Ontario with his family. He moved to Winnipeg in 1973. Noel retired from the City of Winnipeg (Winnipeg Transit Dept.) in 2004 where he was employed as a clerk for many years. • I have not seen Cousin Noel since 1978. He and Mon Oncle Lucien came to visit my husband, Jim, and I when we were newlyweds at Ft Lewis, WA, near Tacoma. My mother, Bernadette Roy Dugas, and Noel's father were siblings and I grew up in the United States, in Maine. I was an English only child and having no French, I was very happy when we would visit with both Mon Oncle Donat's family and with Mon Albert's because their children spoke English! My best memory of Noel was when he and his parents were visiting my family for my parent's 25th Anniversary, in 1975. He had a Volkswagen Beetle Bug and he was busy explaining to this new young, driver all about the hand-controlled manual transmission. Then he and some other cousins had the best laugh when it all went right over my head! I have often thought of Noel and his family over the years. Speaking for my Mother, and my family, our heartfelt prayers and condolences go out to you and may God hold you tight in your time of sorrow. - Posted by: Helen Dugas Diglia and Family (Cousin) on: Feb 06, 2013

  • My deepest sympathies, Ronita. Always enjoyed visiting with you at car club functions, and missed you and Noel when his health no longer permitted. You were always so attentive to his needs as his mobility declined. - Posted by: Roberta Beach (friend) on: Feb 06, 2013
