DIANA KATHLEEN RODGER (nee BARTON) It is with heartfelt sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Diana Kathleen Rodger on January 26, 2013, born on December 26, 1937 in Noranda, Quebec. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Tracy, her granddaughter Shannon (Nigel), and great-grandchildren Leah, Liam and Freyja; grandson Brad (Erynn); her daughter Heidi (Don), grandchildren Chantal and Régis; her daughter Dawn (Dave), grandchildren Riley and Stephanie; and her son Ed. She will also be missed by her stepdaughter Bonny (Steve), grandchildren Colin and Laura; stepson Jay; and stepdaughter Wendy, granddaughter Amy, and great-grandchildren Paris, and Aurora; grandsons Tyler, Toby and Taylor. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces and friends. She is predeceased by her dearest husband Jim; her parents Elsie (Varley) and Albert; her most beloved sister Rita, her sisters Carol and Margaret who although lived far away, were close to her heart. Diana met the love of her life and soul-mate, Jim Rodger in 1979. Their years together were wonderful all be it much too short for she lost Jim in 1993. Diana loved to cook and her spaghetti sauce was second to none. She also loved baking chocolate chip cookies and she could not keep the cookie jar full. Mom also enjoyed her years at Winnipeg Beach with Jim and all their friends. Although a stubborn and fiercely independent woman; what was most important was that we loved her. Grandma Grunt...try to lay off the horn in heaven! Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering was held. There will be a private family interment in Okanagan Falls, BC where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Diana's name to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

I have been going through Bill's pictures to send to his children and found pictures that Diana had sent to him. It brought back memories of our visit with her in the Okanagan and in Winnipeg. Bill thought the world of her. I am so sorry you have lost your mom, you surely miss her. I was so sorry to receive the phone call about Diana passing, my thoughts prayers go out to the family whom DIANA LOVED VERY MUCH. Well my memories of DIANA are from the wonderful times and years I spent next to Jim and DIANA at winnipeg beach, you could always find her with her water jug hmhm. and a fancy hat on her head and ever so joyful to be around. she was sure a very classy lady. I was very fortunate to visit Diana and Jim in the okanagan a couple of times. they were a great couple. I AM SO HAPPY to see the children are taking her back to her Jim, Diana is running around with her water glass hmhm, and JIM using his inhaler before he has his first cigarette right about now. a prayer for them tonight rip Audrey poff - Posted by: AUREY POFF (FRIEND) on: Feb 10, 2013

Aunt Diana was extremely caring and found the time to visit with our family and our mother/her sister Rita. This included visiting her in Texas and later Mississippi, including one very long bus ride from Winnipeg and her regular and very much appreciated phone calls. She will be very missed by Bo, Paula, Heather, Meme, and Bobby. - Posted by: Bruce " Bo" Lindsay (nephew) on: Feb 10, 2013
