ADELINE POLLOCK Suddenly, on Thursday, February 7, 2013, Addie passed away at the Misericordia Care Centre. She is survived by her sister Lillian (Ross) Skabar, nieces Cheryl Kuntz, Janet (Rob) Miller and the sunshine of her life her great-nephew Evan Miller. She was predeceased by her mother Annie Korol, father Philip Pawluk and stepfather Steve Korol. Addie was born in Winnipeg on September 27, 1932 and lived here all her life. As a young woman, Addie worked as a travel agent, travelled to many parts of the world and shared great stories about her many adventures. Prior to her retirement she had worked at National Pagette/Tiger Tel for 20 years. Addie was a news junkie and could often be seen flicking between news channels while reading various newspapers from cover to cover. She was a kind and loving person who had a genuine interest in the happiness of others. She always had the time to listen, talk and was the first to lend a helping hand. She was such a vital part of our lives and we will miss her more than words could ever express. Cremation has taken place and at Addie's request, no service will be held. A private family interment will be held at a later date. She was taken without any warning, her going left hearts filled with pain, but though she is gone from amongst us, in our hearts she will always remain. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of my Aunt. Her passing left such a huge void in our lives. I often find myself picking up the phone to call her as I often would to share the news of the day. She was such an amazing woman and I miss her more and more each day. - Posted by: Janet Miller (Niece) on: Jun 25, 2013

  • I loved working with Addie, she had the best humor and made all of us laugh when or if we felt down. She loved her family especially her great nephew Evan, we would love the stories she told about him, and she was proud of her Nieces.....We used to laugh cause Addie would complain she needed time to read all her papers...She would come in wearing au da A535, some of us could relate others had a different opinion. She was good at her job with the Answering service and if we had a complainer on the line We would make her the Manager for the Moment, she knew how to smooth ruffeled feathers. Addie will be greatly missed by alot of her c0-workers and we all especially myself am great we got to work with this great lady....Rest in Peace Addie - Posted by: Sue petrachek (Friend and co-worker) on: Feb 17, 2013

  • I am very sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of both Addie and Mrs. Korol. I remember having an occasional play date with Cheryl and Janet. Addie was always kind to me and my family. My sincere condolences. - Posted by: Sheri Tharnovitch (old neighbour) on: Feb 17, 2013
