Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRENT PITT June 23, 1957 - February 15, 2013 It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces Brent's passing, peacefully at home with his wife and children by his side, after a short battle with cancer. Brent is survived by his wife Deborah, daughter Corrine (Trevor), son Pat (Cynthia) and his grandchildren. His sisters Clara (Mike), Debby (Andy), and Teri (Bruce) and his brothers Tom, Ken (Shirley) and Ernest (Manon), nieces, nephews and their children as well as aunts, uncles and friends. Brent was predeceased by his parents Debra and Thomas, his sister Sally as well as his grandparents. Brent was born on June 23, 1957, in Beardmore, ON. As a child he moved to Geraldton, ON, where he started working on his life long list of friends, which continued to grow when he moved to Winnipeg in the late 1970s. He was always thankful for his family and the many friends that he made throughout his life - childhood friends - which he still held dear until the end, made friends through his career, University studies and just by being who he was. Brent's outgoing spirit drew people to him. His dedication to work started when he was 15 years old. While his career choices may have changed for the better throughout the years, he stayed a dedicated worker and was proud of all the advancements and achievements he made in his final career choice at Standard Aero and through his many years of study while enrolled in University and College. Brent believed in supporting worthy causes and this was evident by his participation in the annual dragon boat races and all other events that he volunteered for. We will miss you dearly Brent. We were blessed to have had you in our lives. The world was a special place because you were in it. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery Crematorium, 1800 Day Street, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. The interment will take place at the Mennonite Memorial Gardens, 884 Symington Road South. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brent's name to CancerCare Manitoba. Rest in Peace with God's forgiving grace. Funeral Arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery Crematorium 1800 Day Street 224-1525

The years have passed by quickly, yet at times when I think of you (which I do quite often) it wants to linger on one of the most painful days in my life. And that is the day we lost you. The sorrow continues to linger in our hearts - and, at times, is still overwhelming. I take comfort knowing that you are with Mom, Dad and our sister Sally, but regardless, it still leaves my / our life with a hole in it. How does one go about living with that emptiness - one day at a time - which is what we, as your family, are doing. I just want you to know that we still love you and will always miss you greatly. - Posted by: Debby Hein (Pitt) (Sister) on: Mar 31, 2020

I never realized how hard it would be to try and express what my uncle meant to me, but wow. He was always there for me, more like a brother then an uncle. He always protected me and made me feel safe and welcome. So kind and full of love. Determined to be happy and make people happy. When I was growing up, my uncle and I were not as close as we became after I turned 16. From that day forward I had a best friend that I knew would always be. The hardest part of all is missing him say my name, 'come on DJ' he would say with the sweetest, most calm voice, 'it will be okay dear'. No matter what the problrem, big or small and made up to be big in my head. He just had this way of bringing calm over people when he spoke. So many smiles and so much love. I will miss you every day of my life and I thank God everyday that you were such an important part of my life and of who I am today. Please always know that I love you so much and can still hear your voice and will never forgot you. love you my uncle and best friend. - Posted by: Debbie McLean (neice) on: Mar 01, 2013

In the many years that I've known Brent and his family, I can honestly say that family members and friends like Brent don't just fall out of the sky. Brent was one of the most unjudgemental and selfless people that I ever knew. If he could help in any way, that's what he did even if it meant going without himself. Kind, compassionate and caring. These are the traits of a Saint, a Saint that I had the opportunity and honor of sharing time with. I am going to really miss you Brent. Be at peace my friend! - Posted by: Kelcey Beltowski (Family/Friend) on: Feb 26, 2013

I met Brent on his first day at Standard Aero. We had a chuckle about how he was related to Brad Pitt. Not true but none the less funny. I knew then that he liked to laugh and he always had a smile on his face when I saw him at work. He was a great guy! - Posted by: Rachelle Hallett (Colleague) on: Feb 21, 2013

I had the honor of being in Brent's CIM class over the last few years. Although we worked in different plants at Standard Aero, just being from the same company made us kind of cling together during our studies. I can honestly say that Brent had that rare magnetism that made people like him instantly, probably because he was a good man. As I finish the CIM course I know I shall miss his gentle good humor and stories he would tell. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I will remember him always which is probably something we will all want. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss and rest well in the knowledge that we will all be reunited someday in God's kingdom. Brent was a kind man who was always cheery and put others first. We nominated him as our Class Rep for most of the 3 1/2 years we shared together in our CIM program, as he was a great peer representative. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace, Brent. - Posted by: Cathie Coughlin (friend) on: Feb 21, 2013

Years ago I had the pleasure of spending 6 weeks with Brent at a Management Course. Brent was the most kind and compasionate gentlemen I had met. He was so proud of his family. My deepest sympathy. - Posted by: Cynthia Lischynski (Business Associate) on: Feb 19, 2013

Brent was the kind of guy that always lent an ear for a friend. He was always sincere and always concious of other's feelings. In the short time I knew him he always showed huge personal growth. He was always talking about the marathon he was going to run with his granddaughter or the dragon boat team...he enjoyed being physically active. I will miss that little chuckle that was always accompanied by that grin! You will be missed like crazy by many. You were truly a gentleman and a scholar my friend. - Posted by: Lisa Gerow (Friend) on: Feb 19, 2013
