RICHARD KENNETH CONWAY 1936 - 2013 After a long battle with cancer Richard passed away at the Concordia Hospital in the early hours of February 17, 2013. Richard is survived by his wife of 51 years Bev, son Patrick (Fidya) grandsons Sean and Heru, daughter Kathleen (Joe) grandson Eric, sisters Joan (Manny) and Carol (Don), brother-in-law Sandy, sister-in-law Adele, and several nieces, nephews and close friends. Richard was predeceased by his parents, his nephew Larry and his two favourite four legged companions Aussie and Murphy. Richard worked with the CNR for 35 years before retiring in 1991. Upon retirement he started working as a school bus driver for the TSSD where he stayed for eight years. Richard enjoyed golf and bowling. He had been active in the community as a Beaver Leader with the 1st Transcona Scouts and as a Soccer and Hockey coach with East End Community Club. Richard was also active with the Transcona Memorial United Church where he helped with the Food Bank and feeding the homeless through the Feeding the Lambs outreach program. Special thanks to Dr P. Czaykowski and Nurses Heather Davies and Denise Klassen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Winnipeg Humane Society. A Memorial Service will held 6:30 pm, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. West. May the road rise up to greet you. May the wind always be at your back. Sincere condolences to Bev (cousin), Patrick, Kathleen, and families, cousins Adele and Sandy. So sorry that we were not able to attend the memorial service since we have been in Seattle. I remember golfing with Mr. Conway (Rich) and his son Patrick and brother-in-law Joe several times when we were growing up. He was a very patient and understanding individual on the course. We had a great opportunity to play many courses together over the years; I will always remember those fond moments.
