GERMAIN LAVERGNE 12 ao t 1924 - 7 mars 2013 Paisiblement à Actionmarguerite (Centre Taché), à l'àge de 88 ans, Germain est décédé comme il avait vécu, entouré de sa famille. Il est survécu par ses enfants Denis, Mariette Trudeau (Danelle et Aaron, Josée), Alice (Raymond Rajotte, Cameron et Pamela, Claudine et Ihor, Paul et Leigh Ann), feu Lise (Peter Redekopp, Philip, Karl et Meghan), Georges (Lorraine Bazinet, Miguel et Carla, Daniel), Paul (Kim Lavergne, Jesse-Rey, Sean), Maurice (Sandy Vincent), Monique (Gord Fraser), Joanne (Claude Perreault, Vincent, Julien) et huit arrière-petits-enfants. Egalement dans le deuil sont ses soeurs Gilberte Hébert, Gisèle Vinson et Diane Clément et ses belles-soeurs. Il fut prédécédé par son épouse, Thérèse Edith Lavergne (née Préfontaine), sa soeur Yolande Hamonic, ses frères Fernand, Gérald, Martial et Bernard, et son beau-fils André Trudeau. Germain was born in Saint-Pierre Jolys, MB, the second child of Gilberte Péloquin and Armand Lavergne. As a young man, Germain attended St. Boniface College and loved playing baseball and hockey. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. Soon after his return to Canada, he met and married his beloved Thérèse. He worked as a construction supervisor for Subterranean Ltd., and then Smith Carter Partners, from which he retired in 1983. Germain and Thérèse purchased Wellman Lake Lodge in Manitoba's Duck Mountain Provincial Park where they worked and lived for the next six years. They loved to travel and went on many road trips together. Germain devoted his life to his family and will be missed greatly. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Actionmarguerite (Centre Taché) for their kindness and compassionate care of Germain over the past two years. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013, eulogy at 10:15 a.m. followed by mass at 10:30 a.m. at la Cathédrale de Saint-Boniface, 190, avenue de la Cathédrale. A private family interment will follow the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Division, Canadian Mental Health Association, 2633 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0P7, phone 204-953-2350.
