SANDRA LYNNE CHURCHILL (nee HART) With her family by her side, Sandra Lynne Churchill (nee Hart), aged 63, passed away at the Concordia Hospital on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ted of 42 years, son Trevor (Kim), and daughter Michelle (Nelson) and her three special grandchildren Makenna, Garret and Colton. Left to cherish her memories are her sister Debbie and brother Charlie, sisters-in-law Linda (Harry), Marilyn (Ralph), Joanne, brothers-in-law Bob (Marie), Greg (Kathy) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Roland (1997) and Eva (2005), and mother-in-law Gertrude (1995). Sandy was born on July 24, 1949 in Assiniboia, SK where she lived until she moved to Regina to attend the Alliance Business College. She then started her work career at the Co-op in Outlook, SK and it is here that she met the love of her life and soul mate Ted. After a short courtship they married on October 24, 1970. They moved to Winnipeg in 1971 and were blessed with their first child Trevor in 1974 and their daughter Michelle in 1977. After spending 10 years at home raising her children, she decided to move back into the work force. She began her work career at City Trust on Portage Ave. She continued in the accounting industry holding several positions at various car dealerships within Winnipeg. In her spare time, Sandy loved to read, bake and garden. She enjoyed spending time in Clear Lake and later at the family cabin on Pinawa Channel. Sandy and Ted enjoyed travelling to destinations such as Disney World, China, Punta Cana, and various cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. As well they enjoyed attending dances and spending winters with close friends in Texas and Arizona. Sandy's most cherished role was being a mother to Trevor and Michelle and later a grandmother (Nanny) to Makenna, Colton and Garret. Sandy loved every minute that she spent with her little "peanuts". A celebration of Sandy's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., April 6, 2013, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for taking special care of Sandy. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Concordia Foundation (Concordia Oncology). • We remember Sandy as a teenager, helping her Mom in the kitchen and preparing a great dinner for our family mostly with fresh vegetables from the garden.
