Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELEANOR PATRICIA POLYDORE December 22, 1934 - March 22, 2013 Peacefully on March 22, 2013 Eleanor took her final breath. Her work here on earth was complete. She is survived by sister-in-law Thelma Cumberbatch, nieces Deirdre and Jennifer, nephew Glyne and their families, dear friends Magno and Fred, Sybil, Evelyn, Hughlene, Yvonne and Vashti, as well as several godchildren. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents Rodney and Eileen, and her brother Horace. Eleanor emigrated from Barbados to Winnipeg in 1967. She started work as a health care aide at Tuxedo Villa before moving on to Health Sciences Centre where she worked for many years until her retirement in 2000. Eleanor was an energetic, happy, loving, compassionate and loyal friend who touched many lives with her kindness. She loved travelling, shopping, knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. Her hands were never idle. Eleanor will be loved forever and dearly missed by the Laidlow family. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Lion's Place Care Centre for their wonderful support and compassionate care. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 27 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Michael and All Angels Church, 300 Hugo St. A reception will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., following the interment in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 836 Ellice Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0C1. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.
