HAZEL IRENE BEATTY
Date of Passing: Mar 20, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAZEL IRENE BEATTY Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Hazel passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on the first day of spring, March 20, 2013. She leaves behind a precious legacy of love for all those who were dear to her. Hazel will be reunited with her sweetheart Hy, who recently went ahead to their new home, just as he did so many times in their life together. Hazel was born in Winnipeg to Allen and Edith McTeer and was the younger sister to Edie (Smith). Her parents had emigrated from England and Hazel wore her British heritage proudly throughout her life. She married Hyland Beatty on August 24, 1951 and they became great partners in life and parenting. Hazel was a devoted mother and that life work gave her great pride and joy. Her four children looked to "Mum" as an endless source of love, encouragement, and wisdom. She was their biggest supporter. Hazel enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; family, friends, a good mystery book, pansies, her plants, a shopping bargain, and a hot cup of tea. She and Hy loved travelling together and one of her favourite destinations was London, England, where they had spent the first year of their marriage. Their second home on Longboat Key, Florida was the place for many great family visits and where Hazel created special memories with her children and grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered for her strength of spirit, independence, warm smile, and beautiful blue eyes. Hazel will be dearly missed by her children and their spouses; Kathy and Phil, Marilyn and Paul, Donna and Brett, Andrew and Kiley; her grandchildren, David, Sarah, Keith, Taylor, Kiefer, Sean, Erin, Ryan, Jacob, and Aidan; her three great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate the lives of Hazel and Hy will be held in Winnipeg at a later date.

Sending mountains of love. I am sorry I had not heard before now. Was just in Winnipeg and was asked if I had read or learned of your parents' passing. Remarkable people who were such dear, dear friends to my parents. Thank you for all the love and kindness, laughs, adventures and stories. Our lives are fuller for having them as part of it. Sending deep sympathies. Nancy DaDalt, Bob & Robson Krysak - Posted by: Nancy DaDalt (Family friend) on: Jun 13, 2013
