Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE ELAINE FOWLER December 2, 1957 - March 29, 2013 Suddenly, at her residence on Good Friday, March 29, 2013, our beautiful and precious Marie left this world to soar with God's Angels. Marie will be forever cherished and remembered by her husband of over 30 years, Frank, sister Patricia (Gordon) of St. John, NB; niece Sharlene (Shane) and great-nephew Drew of Victoria, BC; nephew Shawn (Nicole) and great-nephews, Nico and Gabriel of Edmonton, AB, Aunt Anne of Lansing, IL, as well as many treasured and special cousins. Marie joins in heaven her cherished parents Olga and William, many aunts and uncles, and all others who went before that touched her life. Where does one begin to define the beautiful soul and spirit that was Marie? For all of us who had the blessing of crossing Marie's path and being touched by her, we all have the same words to describe her: caring, giving, empathetic, embracing, joyful, happy, positive, spiritual, and most important.....loving! Marie would often say, "the only reason any of us are here is to love each other and help one another". As a tribute to Marie, let us all take her life mantra and practice it with the same passion she had. And who can ever forget Marie's laugh? It resonated with joy and it was her. And anyone who knew Marie will always remember her as a fashionista'....her style with flair and appearance was always important to her! Marie's ability to touch lives in such a special and unique way was natural for her. This was her gift that she freely and willingly gave to others. Marie's love for her career and profession as a pharmacist must be mentioned. It truly was a real life passion and love for her. And she did it with such professionalism, integrity and caring. To all her colleagues who worked with her at Geri-aid, including Jane Alderdice, Leslie Carrington, and Brian Tazumi, please know you were never just a working colleague but were special friends to her. Marie loved you all! Important to mention are all the nurses, physicians, administrators and other personnel at Marie's nursing homes. She cared and loved you as well. Thank you to Dr. Karen van de Meuller.....a very special woman who was Marie's colleague and good friend! Marie was blessed with so many beautiful friends that it is impossible to list everyone, but you know who you are. Special mention to Marietta, Donna-May, Fran, Joan, Debbie, Val, Dawn, Heather James, Heather Neilson, Penny, Maria, Susie and Par. Marie always said that if she passed, she would not prefer a service, but rather a party in the future to remember her where memories are not of grief but rather laughter and joy. As such, her request is being honoured and respected. Cremation has taken place. Donations please, in her honour, to Siloam Mission or The Winnipeg Humane Society. Look for Marie's spirit in a sunset, in nature, in the skies where there are stars and the moon shines brightly, and for a rainbow full of vibrant colours! Remember her at these times, as that will be your tribute to her! She is with us forever in spirit and love! "`For what is it to die, but to stand in the sun and melt into the wind? And when the Earth has claimed our limbs, then we shall truly dance! Prophet Kahlil Gibran Soar with the birds, our beloved Marie! Always remembered, always cherished, always present! My Dear friend Marie....I still struggle with the fact that you have left us so soon, part of me still does not want to believe it.... I hope that you knew how much I respected and cared about you. So many memories in my mind. I remember the day you graduated from the U of Manitoba, I "french braided" your hair that day, I remember feeling so Proud of you as I was braiding your hair, you were the only friend I had that had graduated from university. I have so many other wonderful memories, the fun times we had at marriage prep classes, attending each other's weddings & socials...dancing at the disco... I will cherish all these memories. I regret that I did not have the chance to say goodbye to you. No matter what happened through all the years.... I think you knew the immense respect I had for you, I think you knew how much you meant to me. I'm glad that shortly before you left, I had the opportunity to thank you and tell you how much I appreciated you. I told you in our last conversation that you were such a sweetheart for caring about others, for offering support. You will always be a sweetheart!..Oh my Friend!..this change has happened much too soon!. I take comfort in knowing that you are in a beautiful place, and that you are surrounded by all your loved ones. I believe this without a doubt..and I know without a doubt how much....I miss you....Sing with the Angels my friend!......Dianne - Posted by: Dianne B (friend) on: Mar 30, 2014

Marie truly lived to serve others and was so loving and devoted to her family. She was dedicated to the care of her mom and auntie all of her life; no matter what the sacrifice. Marie was a ray of sunshine when family gathered and her love will continue to shine on. I've had the pleasure of working with Marie for over 10 years. I'll always remember her being a "fashionista" with her stylish shoes & handbags, but most of all, her positive attitude. She always greeted everyone at work with a smile & hello! Every time she would encourage me, it would always be with a, "YOU GO GIRL!!!" My condolences go out to Frank, all her family, close friends and pretty much anyone who got a chance to meet Marie along the way. Marie, you surely are missed at Geri-Aid & it will never be the same without you. - Posted by: Lori Torio (Geri Aid coworker) on: Apr 10, 2013

I had the privilege to work with Marie for 5 years. We both shared the same passion for shoes! She always came to work with a smile on her face and I loved to make her laugh. All of us at work are so saddened by her passing and will truly miss her beautiful smiling face everyday. I will truly miss you Marie. - Posted by: Natalie Benevides (Geri Aid coworker) on: Apr 09, 2013

I've only known Marie for a few short years. I will miss her, "Hi, everyone!", everyday when she came in to work. She loved her job and it sounds like she carried that enthusiasm wherever she was. Some Fridays she'd do a little dance, just because the weekend was coming! My thoughts and prayers go out to the people who were closest to her, and had the privilege of spending their life with her. - Posted by: Norma Hutchinson (Geriaid coworker) on: Apr 09, 2013

We extend our deepest condolences. It seems like yesterday, although in reality it was last spring, Marie was tending to the flowers which she loved so much as we would stop and talk. We will miss our conversations with her this spring. - Posted by: Zdenka and Don (neighbours) on: Apr 07, 2013

I first met Marie and became friends with her in high school. It was evident, even all those years ago, that I had met someone truly extraordinary. She was brilliant, kind, dedicated, and a loving and loyal friend. I was fortunate to have enjoyed many happy times with our beloved Marie and Frank over the years. My dear friend Marie, I will forever cherish our time together. You will be missed. - Posted by: Maria Carota (friend) on: Apr 07, 2013

Heartfelt condolences to the family. I worked with Marie on Pembina Highway many years ago and then again in the same field of long term care. She truly cared for the people around her. She will be missed. - Posted by: Janna Murray (pharmacist colleague) on: Apr 06, 2013

Every day I gaze out my living room window and I see you, Marie. I see you giving your tender loving care to your beautiful flower beds. Your love will forever blossom and I will forever be seeing you there, kneeling and working your magic with the wonderful love you gave and shared. May angels be at your side for eternity. - Posted by: Karen Martin (Friend and Neighbour) on: Apr 06, 2013

I will miss you so much, my precious Marie! You will always be in my heart, tucked tenderly in a warm and gentle spot and I will think of you often with a smile and a soft utterance of your name. Being with nature will immediately bring you forth and when I witness beauty of any kind, you will be there! We will meet again! Rest now darling and know you will always be with me and loved forever! - Posted by: Heather Nielsen (Driebd and spirit sister) on: Apr 06, 2013
