Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDUARDO B. GARING March 31, 1949 - April 12, 2013 With heavy hearts, we sadly announce the passing of Eduardo B. Garing on April 12, 2013. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Araceli of 42 years; sons Edgar (Jeddy) and Edwin (Melodie); grandchildren Jaired, Joshua, Janine, Blake and Dean; siblings Manuel, Aida, Ricardo and Jose. He was predeceased by his parents Agapita and Tomas. Ed was born on March 31, 1949, in the Philippines, where he met and married his high school sweetheart Cely. He then moved to Canada in 1973, where he worked at Versatile for 28 years. Ed had the gift of creating beauty around him. It showed in his passion for arranging flowers, his drawings and his hand-painted art. In the summers, his true passion was gardening and enjoying every moment of sunshine. In the winters, he looked forward to the bowling season. His greatest accomplishment was scoring a perfect game of 300. He had many friends near and far and loved travelling to Chicago to visit family. He was a beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He managed to make everyone smile and laugh effortlessly. "Papa Eddie" as he was most known for was always the "the LIFE of the party!". Although he had many passions in life, his greatest pride and joy was his five grandchildren. He dedicated his retirement days to taking care of them, driving them to school, driving them to basketball practices and watching every single basketball game the kids played. He enjoyed every moment with them. He was a major part of their lives and his presence will truly be missed. This past year Papa Eddie encountered quite a rough road, but it didn't stop him. He appreciated his LIFE and has shown us the true meaning of strength. Papa Eddie is a true fighter, a selfless man who fought until the end. A man of steel, and a heart of GOLD. You have worked so hard for all of us. God has called for you, and you are now in a better place. It is now your turn to be taken care of and rest. You deserve it Papa Eddie! We will always remember you! We love you! Special thanks to the St. Boniface Palliative Care medical staff. Viewing (Lamay) will be held on April 17 and 18 from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on April 20 at 9:00 a.m. at St.Vital Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy. Distance sometimes matters much especially when heart and mind is expressive, intensely. Tito Eddie have been my idol since I am 5 yrs old. His talents and gifts drives me on how to be at least like him. Every minute when we met here in the Philippines were dramatically cherished co'z I knew, for us to meet again would take bunches of years. Our prayers here for him every night doesn't cease but God has his will.. My prayer is that may the Lord embrace you as you start a new life with Him.. We love you so much. - Posted by: Marlon Garing (Nephew) on: Apr 15, 2013

You encouraged me to always sing my heart out and capture the soul of whatever song I sing. You showed us how to celebrate life may it be through the gorgeous art work or flowers you create or the garden you grew every summer. We will forever miss your beautiful voice... the way you play the guitar... but most specially, we will miss your calming presence. I'm sure you and my dad are now drinking your favourite crown royal in heaven... You are in God's arms now. Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Maisie Robles (niece) on: Apr 15, 2013
