JOHN TELEGLOW October 18, 1917 - April 13, 2013 Peacefully, with family by his side, John Teleglow passed away at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne on April 13, 2013 at the age of 95 and one half years. Predeceased by his parents, Peter and Patricia Teleglow, brothers: Mitchell, Clarence (Barbara), Nick (Mildred), and sister Olga (Harry). The past two years he would look at his family photo from when they came to Canada. He would say, "I am the only one left". Also passing before him are brothers-in-law: Harry Botan, John Arseniuk, Tony Arseniuk and Sidney Pronchuk, sisters-in-law: Dora Pronchuk and Marie Arseniuk, nephew Ben Arseniuk, and niece Gail Bright. Left to cherish his memory: his wife Mary, of 65 and one half years, children: Patricia (Gordon), Katherine (Harold), Jim (Donna), grandchildren: Valeda (Troy), Christine (Sheldon), Karla (Albert) and Kevin, great-grandchildren: Jayden and Tyrell. Dad was born on October 18, 1917 in Druskopol, Ukraine. He came to Canada with his family in 1937 and lived in the Ste. Anne area. Life was hard for them. He moved to Winnipeg and worked at Stalls making suits. There he met his wife Mary. They married on May 31, 1947. In 1952 they bought a farm in the Rosewood area. They worked so hard in the fields and in the barn and raising three children. Dad loved to farm and watch things grow. Some people farm to live; my Dad lived to farm. In 1977 they moved to Transcona but Dad still went to work seeding and harvesting for many years. The past four years were spent at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne. He resided in Unit D and his wife Mary resides in Unit B. A special thank you to all the kind and caring staff at Villa Youville. Their thoughtfulness and compassion is outstanding. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Pastor Ernie Goertzen will be officiating. Reception to follow. Interment will take place at Transcona Cemetery following the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, Manitoba.
