CYRILLE JOSEPH LABONTE December 20, 1932 - May 3, 2013 Cyrille was born in the rural Parish of Notre Dame in Quebec to Rose-Anna (Lacroix) and Michel Labonte. At a young age, he left his large family to find employment and see Canada. He claimed to have 27 siblings. He served in the Canadian Forces in Europe and Canada and worked on vessels on Lake Winnipeg. While in Winnipeg, he met Greta Overwater. They married in November 1960 and settled in Transcona becoming a machinist at various firms and later a security guard. His wife Greta predeceased him on May 26, 2003. With the onset of Alzheimer's, he moved in 2009 to Irene Baron, then River East Personal Care Home. Both Cyrille and Greta's extended families thank the neighbours and various staff who enriched his life. Mass will be held in the family Parish in Quebec. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.
