VICTOR WATT 1933 - 2013 It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Victor Watt, beloved father and grandfather on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Southeast Personal Care Home. Victor was the elder of two children with a sister Irma Ward, married to Marion (nee Ellett) who predeceased him in April 1977. He is survived and sadly missed by two sons, Gary and Wayne (Laura), one daughter, Sheryl, two grandchildren, Erika (12), and Melissa (8), one sister, Irma, two nieces, Deirdre (Rob) and Mairi, and one nephew, Roderick (Coleen). Victor also leaves behind a very supportive brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Ellett and his family, many close friends and relatives including the Milnes, Auntie Eileen and family, the Crawfords, Uncle Raymond and family, the Johnstons, Simms, and Cormiers. Victor grew up in the West End, attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate participating as a school executive and in track and field, as well as football. His insurance career started in 1955 as a life agent with the Prudential Insurance Company of America where he graduated to a staff manager before leaving in June 1961 to open his own general life insurance company. In the ensuing years he entered into a partnership agreement with associate Stewart Millet which endured until Autopac Bill 56 eroded the general insurance industry. Both Stewart and Victor became members of the Real Estate Board. In addition to active memberships in trade insurance and real estate associations, he was active and served time as an executive of All Saints Kinsmen Club of Saint Boniface and St. Vital, the Sertoma Club of Manitoba and the Sales and Marketing Executives Association. He was proud to be a supporter of Gary Filmon, and has been an active member of the Tuxedo PC Constituency. One of his most enjoyable achievements, that covered a span of over 10 years, was the successful marketing of condos, housing and land in Florida as a franchised dealer for the Deltona Corporation of Miami Florida; and winning the designation as a top producer in Canada for three consecutive years. We would like to thank the staff of Southeast Personal Care Home for their kindness, and exceptional care provided. Cremation has taken place. A small family service will be held in the country at the Erinview Church (to be announced at a later date). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the Parkinson's Society of Manitoba, 7-414 Westmount Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2J 1P2.
